This heavenly coastal getaway of unspoilt, white, sandy beaches and crystal blue waters is located in the Northeast portion of the island.
A short drive outside the town circles would render its visitors speechless owing to breathtaking sights that behold them. Trincomalee’s most culturally important site is the Koneswaram temple – a vibrant religious complex located atop a rocky hill that opens out to gorgeous vistas of the sparkling blue ocean. The temple complex is also home to the Lover’s Leap (Swami rock) a rocky pinnacle worshipped by passing fishermen.
There are also several locations including Pigeon Island, ideal for snorkeling and diving where one could observe the most striking varieties of corals and tropical fish. The seven hot wells in Kanniyai is an excellent opportunity for rejuvenation. Best time to visit Trincomalee is between April and October.
